Throughout my years one thing I’ve always found an unreasonable amount of joy in are year end lists. Time really does fly by as you go through life and a well done year end recap makes me take a moment and reflect on just how much has happened in the last twelve months.
So as we wind down toward the end of 2020 I thought it would be worthwhile to see what were the most popular posts that people looked at on the Around Michigan blog this year. Interestingly, not a single one of our top ten posts came from the year 2020. Instead, we have a lot of old posts that have either gained or maintained their popularity over time. Let’s count’em down!
Earthquakes in Michigan? While we’re not known for our earth rattling tremors, Michigan has had its fair share of earthquakes over the years. Our history lesson was popular enough to allow this post to squeak into our top ten for 2020.
Every show on a food related network is a competition these days, right? Ever since Adam Richman popularized eating challenges on Man vs. Food people have become very interested in eating challenges. Our list of Michigan food challenges helped prove the point and came in at ninth on our list.
Every time I go to a new city I inevitably annoy my wife by researching the height of the tallest building in the city. This gem might not be so hidden any longer as it proved to be our second most popular post in 2020. While most Michiganders and non-Michiganders think all of the state’s best waterfalls reside in the Upper Peninsula, Ocqueoc Falls might change your mind!
This post was published back in 2016 as “glamping” was becoming part of the American lexicon, and an increasingly popular form of vacationing. We offer a list of the top spots to get your glamp on, and apparently the internet has a nearly unquenchable thirst for glamping in Michigan, as it clobbered the competition to be our most popular post in 2020.
