Fun Exhibits To Visit At Impression 5

Impression 5 Science Center is located in the heart of Lansing. It is a very short drive from nearly all locations in Southern Michigan, including Detroit, Ann Arbor, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Mount Pleasant. There are more than 150 different activities spread across the newly renovated 25,000 square foot facility. The center is designed to host kids that are both 2 years old all the way up to 12 — and honestly, some of the exhibits are fun for adults, too! In addition to normal activities this summer, Impression 5 has a great lineup for exhibits on tap!

throwing1 One of the upcoming exhibits is Throwing Things. The Throwing Things exhibit teaches children about kinetic and potential energy through hands-on experience. Kids can throw a baseball like a major league pitcher, use an air cannon and even launch a tennis ball 40 feet with a trebuchet.

Having trouble getting your kids to brush their teeth, then maybe you should visit the Chew on This! exhibit. At this exhibit, children will learn more about their mouth and teeth. The Chew on This! exhibit also allows them to play with big dental tools to make the experience one to remember! The exhibit is also a learning experience for adults since they can learn how certain foods affect your teeth.

MI Nature Exhibit Not able to fit camping into your schedule this summer? Visit the MI Nature exhibit at Impression 5 then. While it isn’t the same experience, children can still learn about Michigan’s environment. The exhibit allows you to get up close and personal with the natural environments and living systems in Michigan.

Another great exhibit to check out is Pop! A Bubble Experience! Who doesn’t love bubbles? They can entertain kids for hours and give you a little break…not that any parent would want a break from their kids. The bubble exhibit teaches children how bubbles are made with soap and water molecules. Kids will also love the ability to stand inside a giant bubble, which makes for a fun picture for parents!

Impression 5 also caters to the youngest visitors in the First Impression Room. This room is excellent for “scientists” from birth to four years old. The room has private nursing rooms, family restrooms, and a welcome area for snacking, making it excellent for families!

The center is open from Tuesday-Saturday from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and on Sundays from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. The center is closed on Mondays. School groups and birthday parties are welcome. Learn more about the exhibits before your visit on the Impression 5 website.
